Outdoor Tools and Power Equipment in Rochester NY

Outdoor Power Equipment in Rochester, NY

Rochester-area homeowners and crews can find outdoor tools and power equipment at all three Weider's Hardware stores. This department covers equipment for mowing, trimming, cutting, cleanup, and snow removal. Outdoor furniture, pools, soil, mulch, fertilizer, and other lawn and garden supplies are handled in separate departments.

Lawn Mowers and Cutting Equipment

Shop walk-behind and riding lawn mowers, with gas and battery-powered options available by store and season. Yard size, terrain, storage space, cutting width, and preferred power system all affect which mower makes sense.

The same aisle covers chainsaws, pole saws, and related cutting equipment for pruning, storm cleanup, and property maintenance. Bring the type and size of material you expect to cut so an associate can help compare suitable equipment.

Trimmers, Edgers, and Hedge Tools

String trimmers and edgers handle grass along fences, walks, beds, and other places a mower cannot reach. Hedge trimmers and pole tools cover shrubs, hedges, and overhead growth within the tool’s rated capacity.

Ask about gas and battery-powered choices, shaft styles, cutting attachments, batteries, chargers, and compatible accessories. Product families are not always interchangeable, so bring the equipment model number when matching an attachment or power-system component.

Leaf Blowers, Pressure Washers, and Cleanup Equipment

Outdoor cleanup equipment may include handheld and backpack blowers, pressure washers, and other powered tools for leaves, hard surfaces, and seasonal property work. The right choice depends on the area, material, operating time, storage, and available power source.

For occasional construction, property, power, or cleaning projects, compare buying with our tool and equipment rental service. Rental is available at Honeoye Falls and Fairport/Perinton, with specific equipment changing by date and store.

Snow Blowers and Winter Equipment

Snow blowers and related winter equipment arrive seasonally. Driveway size, surface, grade, typical snowfall, storage, and preferred power source help determine the appropriate machine.

Call before the first major storm if you need a particular category or size. Seasonal demand can change availability quickly, and the exact selection differs among stores.

Outdoor Hand Tools

The department includes outdoor hand tools such as rakes, shovels, pruners, loppers, axes, splitting tools, and other equipment used for yard and property work. An associate can help compare handle length, weight, cutting capacity, and the material the tool is meant to handle.

Use each tool within its rated capacity and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Power equipment calls for the protective gear specified in its manual and a work area clear of bystanders, children, and pets.

Parts, Batteries, and Maintenance Supplies

Keep equipment ready with replacement blades, chains, trimmer line, spark plugs, filters, batteries, chargers, oil, and other maintenance supplies. Bring the complete model number because parts that look alike may not fit or perform the same way.

If the part or configuration is not stocked, our custom sourcing and special ordering service can check available suppliers. Product and supplier availability vary.

STIHL and EGO Equipment and Service

Weider's carries STIHL and EGO outdoor power equipment, with selection varying by location and season. Weider's is a STIHL Gold Certified service center and an EGO authorized dealer and service center.

For maintenance, diagnostics, warranty work, or a machine that will not start, use our outdoor power equipment repair service. The repair page explains accepted equipment, service credentials, and how to arrange pickup for a machine that is difficult to transport.

Delivery and Propane Services

Larger equipment may qualify for pickup, local delivery, or assembly. Ask about the specific machine before buying because options depend on the item and destination.

If another part of your outdoor project uses propane, check the propane refill and exchange guide before choosing a store. Brighton and Fairport/Perinton offer tank exchange only, while Honeoye Falls handles propane refills for tanks of any size, including RV tanks.
