Outdoor Power Equipment Repair and Maintenance

From the first mower of spring to the last snowblower run of the season, outdoor power equipment takes a beating in the Rochester climate. Weiders is a one-stop shop for that equipment, handling everything from out-of-the-box setup on a new purchase to full diagnostic work and repair on machines you've owned for years. We service all brands, not just the ones we sell, so you don't need to have bought a tool from us to bring it in.

Services We Offer

  • Complete tool diagnostics
  • Annual tool maintenance
  • Blade and chain sharpening
  • Pickup and delivery for large equipment
  • Battery-powered tool repair
  • Gas-powered tool repair

Annual maintenance deserves its own mention. A mower, trimmer, or chainsaw that gets a tune-up before the season starts, fresh oil, a clean air filter, a sharp blade or chain, a clean fuel system, runs better and lasts longer than one that only sees a technician after it breaks down. It's the same logic as an oil change for a car: cheaper up front than the alternative.

Categories of Equipment We Service

Whatever the machine, our technicians are comfortable working on it, from a homeowner's push mower to a landscaper's zero-turn.

Warranty Repair Certifications

We're a Stihl Gold Certified Warranty Repair Center, and we also handle warranty and repair work for EGO, TTI brands (Ridgid, Ryobi, Hart), and Briggs & Stratton. We're also working toward warranty repair certification for Stanley Black & Decker, DeWalt, Craftsman, and Toro, so check with us if you own one of those brands and need warranty work done.

Being a certified warranty repair center matters for more than convenience. It means our technicians have gone through manufacturer-specific training, use approved parts, and can process warranty claims directly, so a covered repair costs you nothing beyond the diagnostic fee (which is itself covered if the manufacturer accepts the claim).

Battery-Powered vs. Gas-Powered Equipment

Battery-powered outdoor tools have become common across Rochester-area yards over the last several years, and they come with their own repair considerations: battery cell diagnostics, charging system issues, and motor problems that look different from a gas engine's carburetor or ignition trouble. Our technicians work on both platforms, so whether your mower runs on a battery pack or a gas tank, it's in expert hands.

Our Repair Process

  1. Drop off. Bring your tool to any Weiders location. A non-refundable diagnostic fee applies at check-in (covered by the manufacturer if the repair is accepted as a warranty claim, so bring your registration or proof of purchase). We can arrange delivery for large equipment like snowblowers or zero-turn mowers.
  2. Diagnosis. Our technician runs diagnostics and builds a repair plan, ordering parts for warranty repairs or preparing a full quote if it isn't covered.
  3. Repair. Once you approve the plan, we get to work.
  4. Pickup. We contact you as soon as your equipment is ready.

Turnaround time depends on the type of equipment: standard turnaround is about two weeks for gas-powered equipment and about three weeks for battery-powered equipment, though warranty parts availability can affect that timeline.

Bring It In, or Let Us Come to You

Not every mower or snowblower fits easily into a car, and we get that. For large equipment, our pickup and delivery service can save you the hassle of hauling it in yourself. Whether you're a longtime customer or new to the neighborhood, our trusted Rochester-area team is ready to help you keep your equipment running through every season.

Why Weiders

Stihl Gold Certified & Multi-Brand Warranty Repair

Authorized warranty and repair work for Stihl, EGO, TTI brands (Ridgid, Ryobi, Hart), and Briggs & Stratton, all in one shop.

Pickup & Delivery for Bulky Equipment

Snowblowers and zero-turn mowers don't fit in most cars — we can arrange delivery so a repair doesn't turn into a moving job.

Regular Tune-Ups Beat Emergency Repairs

Seasonal maintenance — sharpening, fluid changes, filter checks — costs far less than a major repair after equipment fails mid-project.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a repair usually take?

Standard turnaround is about 2 weeks for gas-powered equipment and about 3 weeks for battery-powered equipment, once diagnosis is complete and any needed parts are approved.

Is the diagnostic fee refundable?

No, the diagnostic fee is non-refundable at check-in — but it's covered by the manufacturer if your repair is accepted as a warranty claim, so bring your registration or proof of purchase.

What brands are you authorized to do warranty repairs for?

We're a Stihl Gold Certified Warranty Repair Center and also handle warranty/repair work for EGO, TTI brands (Ridgid, Ryobi, Hart), and Briggs & Stratton. Stanley Black & Decker, DeWalt, Craftsman, and Toro are coming soon.

Should I get an annual tune-up even if my equipment seems to run fine?

Yes — routine maintenance like fresh fuel, sharp blades, and clean filters is the single biggest factor in how long outdoor power equipment lasts, and a scheduled tune-up is far cheaper than waiting for a breakdown mid-season.
